The concept will feature an electric powertrain
Mitsubishi is set to launch a new electric model at the Tokyo Motor Show next month, in the shape of the e-Evolution Concept.
The model has only been teased so far, but Mitsubishi states that 'the e-Evolution Concept signals the start of an exciting new era which will see long-term growth and sustainable development for the brand'.
Following on from the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance announcement at the end of last week, the e-Evolution Concept will have a plug-in powertrain - though it is not clear yet whether this will be pure-electric or plug-in hybrid.
Running with the quote: "The e-Evolution Concept blends Mitsubishi Motors' signature 4WD electric drivetrain know-how with advanced artificial intelligence technology under a low-slung, highly-aerodynamic SUV coupé shape", it would imply that the model will be a PHEV because of the Outlander PHEV. With the announcement that greater electrification is planned though, it could well be that the concept is a pure-EV.
Mitsubishi will unveil the new concept on 25th October, with the Tokyo Motor Show 2017 running until 5th November.
