HOW TO START DEAD BATTERY CAR

You will begin by jump starting your automatic transmission, you will have to use another car’s battery to bring yours back to life.
Make sure to connect the booster cables which will transmit the energy and power from that car’s cell directly into your own dead battery.
Always remember that you can’t connect to just any other battery with your car to jump start it.
This means that if the battery of the other car has a voltage that is higher than yours, this could cause a lot of damage to your car’s battery.
Note that most cars have 12-volt batteries, so ensure you find another car with the same voltage.
Once the battery is properly connected to your hot engine, give it enough time for the power surge to hit the dead battery which can take several minutes.
Please don’t rev the engine to initiate a surge of power.
And once the vehicle cranks, you can disconnect the cables by taking off the positive first and then the negative (without letting them touch each other).
JUMP START CAR WITH DRILL BATTERY
Step 1.
To do this, you’ll need a fully charged battery from a drill or other power tool.
Ensure that the battery is fully charged, this is because a half charged battery might not give you enough power.
Note that batteries between 12v – 18v should work just fine.
You can connected small alligator clips to extend the battery terminals, then put a sponge between the clips to avoid accidental surge.
Step 2.
You now connect the positive (+) clip to the dead battery, and then the other end to the drill’s battery.
Step 3.
After this, connect the negative (-) clip to the drill’s battery and the other end of the cable to the unpainted metal part of the car.
Then wait for 5 – 10 minutes before trying to start the car.
Once done and you’re lucky, you’ll be able to drive away.
HOW TO START A CAR WITHOUT A BATTERY
This depends if the car is manual (Easy) or automatic (Hard to impossible).
- For the manual: ensure you select the second gear, press the clutch pedal. Find 3 to 4 people to push the car until you reach about 2 MPH or more, then drop the clutch, hopefully the car will start.
Another way is to manually tow the car up to 5–10MPH and then select 2nd or 3rd gear, drop the clutch. Hopefully the car will start.
- For automatic cars: this only works with some cars. You can select the drive, then tow the car up to about 20MPH. But in case it doesn’t work on the first attempt, call your mechanic.

Using laptop charger
Well, some laptop charging bricks can be used, just look for ones that has 15 volts or so.
Then keep tabs on it, the charger brick may get a bit warm, as the battery that are big will have pretty low internal resistance.
But you might want to consider an incandescent bulb in series with the charging lead to limit current. I would use a headlight bulb to start.
UPS
Now do you have a UPS? If you do, they typically use lead acid batteries, and thus have a decent charging circuit.
One of the issue you might have is that if they are of any sort of size, maybe 24 volts inside which uses two 12 volt SLA bricks in series, and might be really small only 6 volt.
You can sub in the car battery for one of the 12-volt packs in a 24-volt system leaving the other.
Using coke
What you should do first, pop your hood and take a look at the battery. Once the terminals are really corroded, you can use a can of Coke to clean them up.
This because it has a relatively low pH, carbonic acid, citric acid, and phosphoric acid, as well as carbonation. And when combined, they can break down the corrosion.
when done, it will make things a bit sticky, but it will ensure the removal of the corrosion and help make a better connection between the terminals and the battery clamps. But always remember, this is only a temporary fix.
